This Grand Central is steeped in historical tradition. Due to an ancient by-law it is only the third bar on Dublin’s main street - O’Connell Street, but it’s by far the most beautiful. Its history dates back to the late
19th century, and still today you can view some of the old style large ceilings and beautiful hand crafted stone, surrounded by plush leather couches creating an almost bordello-like comfort. Before it was known as the Grand Central, the premises had been the Munster & Leinster Bank for 75 years. You can still find some of the old banking material that was used at the beginning of the century on display in the Grand Central.
